Our Recent Project On Behalf of Southmill Country Homes Ltd in Whittington, Staffordshire
There’s nothing quite like the excitement of starting fresh in a new home. As soon as the walls are up and the roof is on, it’s time to start transforming the space. There’s no denying that decorating a new build house or renovating an existing one can be a daunting task. That’s why we’re sharing our experience of carrying out the complete decorations to two new build houses and one full renovation to an existing house in the beautiful village of Whittington, Staffordshire during the Summer of 2023.
At the start of the project, we began with preparing the surfaces. This involves cleaning or sanding down the surfaces so that the paint can easily adhere. This step is crucial for woodwork because it helps to ensure that the surface is smooth and ready for the topcoats that will be applied later on.
Once the spray mist coat had been applied, we moved onto the woodwork, which we prepped with an undercoat before applying the topcoat. This is important because it helps the paint to adhere to the surface properly and ensures a smooth finish. After that was done, we applied Farrow & Ball Elephants Breath estate emulsion to the walls and ceilings. This paint finish is a beautiful neutral shade that creates a peaceful ambiance in any space, making it the perfect choice for these homes.
The result was stunning. The walls and neutral woodwork provided the perfect blank canvas upon which the homeowners could inject their personal style.
Starting afresh in a building that we can shape into a home is something that excites us all. Home decorating can be a fun and fulfilling endeavour, but it can also seem like a daunting task. We hope that our work in completing the decorations for two new build houses and one renovated house in Whittington, Staffordshire, has given you a small glimpse of what it takes to transform a bare bones structure into a warm and inviting home.
